Remedial Massage is a therapeutic treatment that targets specific areas of tension, pain or dysfunction in the body. It goes deeper than relaxation - using focused techniques to release tight muscles, improve mobility and support your body’s natural ability to heal. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, living with chronic discomfort or feeling out of balance, remedial massage offers purposeful support to restore ease and function where it’s needed most.
That depends on what’s going on in your body. Some people feel noticeable relief after just one session, while others may need a series of treatments to support deeper healing or manage chronic concerns. We’ll always talk it through together and create a plan that suits you.
For a remedial massage, it's best to wear comfortable, loose clothing that you can easily remove. You’ll be draped with a sheet or towel during the session for your privacy, and only the areas being massaged will be uncovered at a time.
It’s normal to feel a little tender or tired after remedial work, especially if we’ve worked deeply into areas of long-held tension. This usually eases within a day or two. Drinking plenty of water, resting and gentle movement can help your body settle and respond well to the treatment.
Most people can benefit from remedial massage, but there are times when it may not be suitable - for example, with certain medical conditions or acute injuries. We’ll always go over your health history first and make sure it’s safe and appropriate for you.
Yes - once I receive my provider numbers (coming very soon), you’ll be able to claim remedial massage through your health fund if it’s included in your extras cover. I’ll keep you updated once this is available.
After your session, it’s important to give your body time to recalibrate. Keep hydrated, avoid anything too strenuous for the rest of the day and notice how your body feels. I may suggest some gentle stretches or simple movements to help support the effects of your treatment and keep everything flowing well between visits.
