Massage therapy supports both physical and mental wellbeing through hands-on techniques that help reduce tension, ease discomfort and encourage relaxation.
At Enerki Bowen and Massage, I offer:
If you’re unsure which option is right for you, I’m always happy to guide you.
Relaxation Massage – Involves gentle techniques aimed at soothing the body and mind. This type of massage helps reduce stress, relieve tension and promote overall relaxation. It’s ideal for those looking to unwind and relax.
Remedial Massage - is a therapeutic treatment that targets specific areas of tension, pain or dysfunction in the body. It goes deeper than relaxation - using focused techniques to release tight muscles, improve mobility and support your body’s natural ability to heal. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, living with chronic discomfort or feeling out of balance, remedial massage offers purposeful support to restore ease and function where it’s needed most.
The number of massage sessions varies depending on individual needs. Some clients feel relaxed and rejuvenated after a single session, while others find regular treatments helpful for long-term stress relief, maintenance, or deeper therapeutic care.
It's best to wear comfortable, loose clothing that you can easily remove. During your session, you’ll be professionally draped with a sheet or towel at all times. Only the area being worked on will be uncovered, ensuring your comfort and privacy.
Massage is generally a safe and well-tolerated treatment with minimal side effects.
After a Relaxation Massage, some people may experience mild muscle soreness or fatigue, though most clients feel deeply relaxed and often more energised after a good night’s rest.
After Remedial Massage, it’s normal to feel a little tender or tired — especially if we’ve worked more deeply into areas of long-held tension. This usually eases within a day or two.
Drinking plenty of water, resting, and gentle movement can help your body settle, integrate the treatment, and respond well.
Massage is suitable for most people. However, certain medical conditions or acute injuries may require modifications or postponement.
We’ll always go over your health history beforehand to ensure your treatment is safe and appropriate for you.
If you’re ever unsure, you’re very welcome to get in touch so we can talk it through together.
Relaxation Massage is not covered by private health insurance, as it isn’t classified as a clinical treatment under Australian guidelines.
Remedial massage rebates may be available through private health insurance when included in your extras cover. Simply check with your provider to confirm your eligibility and enjoy the added support this can offer on your healing journey.
After your massage, it’s important to give your body time to settle and recalibrate.
I may also suggest gentle stretches or simple movements to support your treatment between visits.
